Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ABSOLUTE NUMBERS LLC ("we", "us") handles personal information in connection with the Nova Scotia Compass website (the "Site").
1. Who is responsible for your information
ABSOLUTE NUMBERS LLC, 2343 Hilltop Ct, Santa Rosa, California, US 95404-2203, is responsible for personal information processed through the Site. You can contact us about privacy using the details on info@scotlaontine.com.
2. Information we collect
- Brochure requests: the name and email address you enter in the Free Brochure Request form.
- Messages: your email address and whatever you include if you write to us.
- Technical data: like most websites, our web server automatically logs information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and date and time.
- Advertising measurement data: only if we have enabled it and you accept it. See section 5.
We do not ask for payment information, government identifiers or other sensitive information. Please do not send us such information.
3. How we use information
- To handle your brochure request and to follow up if there is a problem with it.
- To respond to your messages.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to prevent abuse.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, if you consent.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect our legal rights.
We will not send you marketing emails from a brochure request unless you have separately and expressly agreed to receive them. Any such email would include a working way to unsubscribe.
4. Legal bases
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on the steps needed to fulfil your request, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Site, your consent (which you can withdraw at any time, for example for advertising cookies) and our legal obligations.
5. Cookies and Google advertising
The Site does not need cookies to work. We may advertise the Site using Google Ads and may use the Google tag to measure whether people who clicked an ad went on to request the brochure. When enabled, this tag loads only after you accept it in our consent banner. Google may then use cookies or similar technologies and receive data such as your IP address, browser information and activity on the Site.
Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage ad personalization in Google's My Ad Center. See our Cookie Policy for the current status and to change your choice.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising without your consent. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us operate the Site, such as hosting, email and form-processing providers, acting on our instructions.
- Google, as described in section 5, if you accept advertising cookies.
- Authorities or other parties where the law requires it or where necessary to protect rights and safety.
- A successor in the event of a merger, sale or reorganization, subject to this policy.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, including any legal or record-keeping requirements, and then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your brochure request details at any time.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. This includes rights under laws such as:
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the rights to know, delete and correct, the right to opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.
- Canada (PIPEDA): the rights to access and correct your information, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- EEA and UK: the rights described above, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, contact us via info@scotlaontine.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will not treat you unfairly for making a request.
11. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. External links
The Site links to third-party websites whose privacy practices we do not control. Please read their policies.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and change the date above. Where a change is significant, we will take further steps to inform you if the law requires.
